Sweetwater Zen Center recognizes that there are more than one way to see the oneness of all things. Students are encouraged to explore different practices from traditional and contemporary spiritual paths.
Though our primary practice is zen meditation, zen council practice and non-violent communication practice are also a very important part of our growth as an intentional community. In Zazen we bear witness to our life, in zen council and non-volient communication we explore our relationship towards others and we practice bearing witness not only to ourselves, but to everyone else. Students who are in a transmission path, either as priest or lay teacher are required to participate in all practices offered at Sweetwater Zen Center.
